
Andrew has worked extensively as an actor and teacher for over 35 years.
His roles in theatre include: QUEENSLAND THEATRE: As You Like It, Othello, The Sunshine Club, Boy Swallows Universe, Our Town, L’Appartement, Macbeth, Water Falling Down, The Crucible, Essington Lewis: I Am Work, The Female of the Species, Antigone, The Marriage of Figaro, Romeo & Juliet, The Cherry Orchard. SYDNEY THEATRE COMPANY: The Present, No Man’s Land BLACK SWAN THEATRE COMPANY God of Carnage. LA BOITE: The Wishing Well, Secret Bridesmaids Business, Sex Diary Of An Infidel, Cosi, Bouncers, Hamlet, The Taming Of The Shrew, The Popular Mechanicals. GRIN & TONIC: Macbeth, Cymbeline, The Merchant of Venice, Antony & Cleopatra. QPAC Summer of the Aliens.
In 2017, Andrew performed in the Sydney Theatre Company’s production of The Present in New York, with Cate Blanchett and Richard Roxburgh. This production featured the first fully Australian cast on Broadway.
His film and television credits include: Troppo, Love and Monsters, Young Rock, Irreverent, The End, Rosehaven, Don’t Tell, Australia Day, Fatal Honeymoon, Iron Sky, The Condemned, Scooby Doo, Grace Beside Me, Safe Harbour, The Family Law, The Gods of Wheat Street, Hoges, Wanted, Peter Allen: Not The Boy Next Door, Sisters of War, Harrow, SLIDE, Sea Patrol, RAN: Remote Area Nurse, Mortified, Flipper and Paperback Hero.
Andrew received Matilda Awards for Best Actor - The Female of the Species, Christmas at Turkey Beach, Hamlet, Cymbeline, The Taming of the Shrew and Summer of the Aliens; Best Director - Love’s Labour Lost and Caucasian Chalk Circle. Andrew is a member of the Matilda Awards Hall of Fame.
Andrew completed his Diploma of Teaching (Secondary Drama) in 1988 at BCAE Kelvin Grove (QUT).
He has tutored at QUT, UQ, NIDA (Bris), TheatreSports Queensland, La Boite Youth Theatre, Theatre Residency Week (Queensland Theatre – over 30 years), The Warehouse Workshop Acting Studio, The fACTORy Acting Studio, La Luna Youth Theatre, multiple corporate settings, and extensively in High Schools throughout Queensland.
He recently joined the Australian Performing Arts Conservatory Course Advisory Committee.
